SI is the leading association for IT professionals and IT education in Switzerland. For the benefit of our members, SI works closely with partners on a national, European and international level. We prize quality, excellence and good communication in our partners and have selected the key associations and representatives in Switzerland and other countries.

IFIP is the umbrella of all IT associations in the world, recognized by the United Nations. It represents IT societies from over 38 countries with half a million IT professionals and scientists organized in technical committees to share information between their members and to increase professionalism and knowledge.
Thanks to IFIP providing a direct link to the United Nations, SI is participating in information-sharing on an international level and helps to make the right decisions based on the benefits for cititzens through a non-political lens.
The Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS) is the representative body of national informatics associations throughout Europe. Established in 1989 by 9 European informatics societies, CEPIS has since grown to represent IT professionals in 29 countries, with more than 200’000 ICT professionals.

ICDL is an international organisation dedicated to raising digital competence standards in the workforce, education and society. Their certification programmes, delivered through an active network in more than 100 countries, enable individuals and organisations to assess, build and certify their competence in the use of computers and digital tools to the globally-recognised ICDL standard.
As a non-profit social enterprise, ICDL benefits from the unique support of experts from national computer societies and partners worldwide to develop vendor-independent standards that define the skills and knowledge required to use digital technology effectively. They work with education and training partners, local and regional authorities, national governments, international development organisations as well as public and private sector employers in all sectors, in the delivery of their programmes.
ICDL Certification is now available in over 100 Countries, via more than 20'000 test centres. Over the last 22 years, over 70 Million ICDL tests have been completed by more than 16 million people worldwide.

SVIA is committed to the teaching of IT at all school levels (primary, lower secondary and upper secondary). It advocates modern, solid training for teachers in teacher training institutions. It supports the introduction of the compulsory subject of "Computer Science" in Matura schools. It raises awareness among politicians and the general public of the importance of IT and digital literacy in society.
The work of the SVIA association is an important complement to the missions of the SI and supports computer literacy among the youngest members of society in order to ensure the best knowledge for future generations.
The Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences SATW is the most important network of experts for engineering sciences in Switzerland and is in contact with the highest Swiss bodies for science, politics and industry. The network is comprised of elected individual members, member organisations and experts.
On behalf of the federation, SATW identifies industrially relevant technological developments and informs politics and society about their importance and consequences. As a unique expert organisation with high credibility, it conveys independent and objective information on technology – as the basis for establishing well-founded opinions. SATW also promotes the interests and understanding of technology in the population, including young people in particular. It is politically independent and non-commercial.
digitalSwitzerland is a Swiss-wide, cross-industry initiative that aims to transform Switzerland into a leading digital nation. Along with their network of 200+ association members and non-political partners, including more than 1'000 top executives, they are engaged in over 25 projects to inspire, initiate, co-create and lead digital change in Switzerland.

GI is the main association representing IT professionals and education in Germany.
With around 20,000 members and 250 corporate members, the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) is the largest and most important professional society for computer science in Germany and has represented the interests of computer scientists in science, business, public administration, society and politics since 1969.
With 14 departments, over 30 active regional groups and countless specialist groups, the GI is the platform for all disciplines of computer science.
The Austrian Computer Society (OCG) is a non-profit association and was founded in 1975 to promote informatics and ICT in Austria.
It is a sister organisation with the same goals as SI for the education and representation of IT professionals:
L'Université de Genève is an important provider of higher IT education in the western part of Switzerland. UNIGE supports and recommends the titles IT Expert SI to its IT absolvents and alumni.
OST is an important provider of higher IT education in the eastern part of Switzerland. OST supports and recommends the titles IT Expert SI to its IT absolvents and alumni.
The ISSS association supports the IT Expert SI initiative (previously under FSIE association). Especially, it supports the IT Expert SI Security specialisation. Also, it offers continuing education events for this specialisation.
The UX Schweiz / UX Switzerland association supports the IT Expert SI initiative. Especially, it supports the User Experience specialisation. Also, it offers continuing education events for this specialisation.
