SIRA is a non-profit association representing the professors and lecturers of the Informatics Departments of the Swiss universities, federal institutes of technology and universities of applied sciences.
The goals of SIRA are to foster national and international collaboration within the ICT research community and to promote the visibility and recognition of research and higher education in ICT and its related fields performed in Switzerland.
SIRA achieves these goals by working to influence policy that impacts ICT research, coordinate ICT related efforts in research and higher education both within Switzerland and with organizations abroad, and cultivating communication with industry, government, the media, and the general public.
The SIRA members are those professors and lecturers of the Informatics Departments of the Swiss universities, ETHs and universities of applied sciences who have been registered with SIRA by their respective departments.
SIRA is an independent association which is affiliated with SI. All SIRA members are also SI members.SIRA was founded in 2012 as a joint successor to SARIT (Swiss Association for Research in IT) and CHIP (CH Informatics Professors).
